On June 27, 2017, 16-year-old African-American male Kimani Williams was shot and killed near the former St. Bernard housing development in New Orleans, Louisiana. Kimani, a rising junior in high school, was found fatally wounded in the 4700 block of Painters Street, a residential area in the Gentilly neighborhood.
