In the early hours of a late summer morning in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the life of 36-year-old Herbie Gonzalez was tragically cut short. Just before 1 a.m. on August 24, 2015, the sound of gunfire echoed in front of a public housing complex. When police officers responded to a 911 call, they found Gonzalez with gunshot wounds to his head and body. He was rushed to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal.
