In the winter of 2016, a life was tragically cut short on the streets of Buffalo, New York. Elroy Damidaux, a 55-year-old male, was found deceased on the evening of Friday, January 29th. The incident occurred on the first block of Curry Walk, located within the Towne Gardens housing project. Responding to a call at approximately 8:30 p.m., Buffalo Police detectives discovered Mr.
Damidaux at the scene, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
The investigation into the homicide quickly progressed, leading to an arrest within a matter of days. On the Sunday following the shooting, members of the Buffalo Police Department's E District and the Strike Force Unit apprehended a suspect. The individual taken into custody was identified as 39-year-old Damario Washington, a resident of Buffalo.
Following his arrest, Damario Washington was charged in connection with the death of Elroy Damidaux. The charge brought against him was second-degree murder, marking a significant development in the case and the first step towards seeking justice for the victim and his family.
