On a summer evening in Buffalo, New York, the joy of a holiday celebration was shattered by an act of violence that claimed the life of a young boy. Three-year-old Shaquille Walker Jr., a male child, was with his family watching fireworks on July 5, 2021, in the courtyard of the Ferry Grider Homes housing complex. It was there that the cheerful sounds of celebration were tragically interrupted by the sound of gunfire.
