In the early morning hours of July 23, 2016, a young man's life was tragically cut short in the Highbridge neighborhood of the Bronx. Earl Simmons, a 24-year-old male, was fatally shot in the head just before 2 a.m. near Yankee Stadium on Anderson Avenue. Emergency personnel rushed him to Lincoln Hospital, but his injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The sudden violence of his death sent ripples of fear and concern through the local community.
