On August 14, 2016, 30-year-old Irvin Noak III, a male, was shot and killed by his own father. The patriarch of the family, Irvin Noak Sr., a 61-year-old retired NYPD officer, became embroiled in a dispute with family members.
When his two sons, Irvin III and 22-year-old Aaron Noak, attempted to intervene, their father retrieved a handgun from his bedroom and opened fire on them. Both brothers were struck by the gunfire and sustained critical injuries. In the immediate aftermath of shooting his sons, Irvin Noak Sr. then turned the weapon on himself, ending his own life.
