Robert Burks, a 52-year-old resident of Bellport, NY, was tragically found shot to death on November 4, 2015. The incident occurred early in the morning when Suffolk County Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation on Bellport Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered Burks lying in front of 527 Bellport Avenue, having been fatally shot by an unknown assailant. The investigation into his death was immediately launched by the Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad.
