On the evening of August 31, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred in North Bellport, New York, resulting in the death of 43-year-old Eric Cooper, a resident of Bellport. The incident took place around 7:45 p.m. on Patchogue Avenue, between Doane and Bayview Avenues, near Robert Rowley Park. According to reports, the shooting happened during a confrontation between two groups of people.
