Freddy Burgess, age 44, and his mother, Debra Burgess, were tragically killed in a double homicide on July 26, 2016, in their New Orleans East home. Unknown assailants entered their home in the Kingswood Subdivision and opened fire, fatally wounding both victims. Freddy Burgess was pronounced dead at the scene, while his mother later died at the hospital. The violent incident occurred with three young children present in the house, who were unharmed.
