In the early morning hours of July 27, 2019, the life of 58-year-old Roderick Haslip, a Black male, was cut short in a fatal shooting in Niagara Falls, New York. Niagara Falls Police officers were responding to an unrelated call around 1:15 a.m. when they heard gunshots. Their investigation led them to the 1000 block of Centre Avenue, where they discovered Haslip inside a white van. He had sustained at least one gunshot wound to his leg.
