Yahhira Nesby, a 33-year-old Black transgender woman, was tragically killed on December 19, 2019, in Brooklyn, New York. Nesby was fatally shot in her Rockaway Parkway home in the Brownsville neighborhood. The incident occurred around 4:20 p.m., and she sustained gunshot wounds to her chest and leg. Nesby was pronounced dead at the scene.
