In the early morning hours of December 27, 2019, the life of 18-year-old Bernard Copeland Jr. was tragically cut short on a street in Rochester, New York. Police responded to a call on Lyell Avenue, near North Plymouth Avenue, to find the young man on the ground with a gunshot wound. Copeland was pronounced dead at the scene, marking a grim start to a day that would see another homicide in the city.
