Stephanie Perkins, aged 39, was tragically killed on June 27, 2020, in Brooklyn, New York. She was standing on a stoop on Van Siclen Avenue in East New York alongside Chioke Thompson, 23, when a gunman opened fire with an assault rifle. The shooter, disguised in a blond wig and trench coat, sprayed 27 bullets at the victims, resulting in their immediate deaths.
