In the summer of 2020, a wave of gun violence in Brooklyn claimed the life of 17-year-old Jahiem Guinn. On the evening of July 24th, the young man was found with a fatal gunshot wound to the head in front of the Weeksville Houses on Dean Street in Crown Heights, the very building where he lived. Emergency responders rushed him to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved too severe, and he was pronounced dead.
