On what should have been a day of celebration, 21-year-old Nazier McFadden's life was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting on his birthday. A Black male from Rochester, New York, McFadden was killed on August 13, 2020, in a double homicide that also claimed the life of his 19-year-old friend, Amir Starks. The two were sitting in a car at a gas station on West Main Street when they were gunned down.
