In the early hours of a Wednesday morning in Manhattan, the life of 30-year-old Roberto Perez of the Bronx was tragically cut short. On April 21, 2021, at approximately 1:15 a.m., police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at the corner of West 207th Street and 9th Avenue in the Inwood neighborhood.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Perez with gunshot wounds to his torso. Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene and quickly transported him to Saint Barnabas Hospital. Despite their efforts, Roberto Perez was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Further investigation into the incident revealed that Perez was not the only victim of the gunfire. A second individual, a 24-year-old male, also sustained a graze wound to the head during the shooting. This second victim managed to transport himself to a local hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.
As of the reports issued at the time of the incident, there have been no arrests made in connection with the shooting, and the investigation remains ongoing.
