In the spring of 2021, on the afternoon of April 28th, the life of 26-year-old Quentin Devon Harrison Jr., a Black male from Syracuse, New York, was tragically cut short. Gunshots rang out near the intersection of Midland Avenue and West Colvin Street, and when the sound faded, Harrison was left with fatal wounds. He was quickly transported to Upstate University Hospital, but the efforts to save him were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead.
The Syracuse Police Department immediately
launched a homicide investigation into the shooting, which occurred around 1:30 PM in the 1400 block of Midland Avenue. Despite their inquiries and appeals to the public for information, the case has remained unsolved. To date, authorities have not publicly identified any suspects in the killing of Quentin Harrison Jr., and no arrests have been made. The investigation continues to be active, with law enforcement still seeking leads that could bring a resolution to the case and a measure of justice for Harrison and his family.
The unexpected and violent nature of his death left his family and friends to grapple with a profound loss. Remembered for his bright smile and the positive influence he had on those around him, his absence has been deeply felt. He left behind two children, a son and a daughter, as well as his parents and grandparents. The community was left to mourn another life lost to gun violence, expressing sorrow and frustration while hoping for a breakthrough in the ongoing investigation that could lead to the apprehension of those responsible for his death.
