In the late morning of May 6, 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of a Mount Vernon, New York street, tragically ending the life of 17-year-old Anthony Boyd Jr. The young man, a male who was on the cusp of graduating high school with plans to enlist in the army, was found with gunshot wounds to his chest on South 8th Avenue, just a short distance from his home.
