In the final moments of New Year's Eve 2021, the life of Shawn Jefferson, a 49-year-old man from White Plains, New York, was tragically cut short. Just before midnight, the sound of gunshots pierced the night on North Kensico Avenue. Responding to calls, police discovered Jefferson with gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital, but succumbed to his injuries shortly after midnight, becoming the first homicide victim in Westchester County in the new year of 2022.
