On March 26, 2022, Keyan Francis, a 28-year-old resident of East Harlem, was tragically shot and killed in the Morris Houses, a public housing development in the Bronx, New York. The incident occurred around 10:45 a.m. inside a 14th-floor apartment at 1465 Washington Avenue. Police responded to a 911 call and found Francis unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was immediately transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
