Akok Lual, a 24-year-old resident of Syracuse, NY, tragically lost his life on April 16, 2022, in a shooting incident that took place in Armory Square, a popular downtown area. Akok, originally from Sudan, had moved to Syracuse in 2005 with his family to escape the violence of the Sudanese civil war.
