Aaron Salter Jr., a 55-year-old retired Buffalo police officer, tragically lost his life on May 14, 2022, during a mass shooting at a Tops Friendly Markets supermarket in Buffalo, New York. Salter was working as a security guard at the store when an 18-year-old gunman, Payton S. Gendron, opened fire in a racially motivated attack.
