In the early morning hours of August 27, 2022, a tragic event unfolded in the Concourse Village section of the Bronx that claimed the life of 37-year-old Maria Rosado. Rosado, a mother of three from Yonkers, was seated in the driver's seat of a parked car near the intersection of East 170th Street and College Avenue when gunfire erupted. She was struck in the head and was later pronounced dead at St.
Barnabas Hospital.
Alongside Rosado in the vehicle was a 43-year-old man, identified as her boyfriend, who was in the front passenger seat. He sustained a gunshot wound to his left leg but survived the attack. The shooting, which occurred at approximately 12:21 a.m., left a community shaken and a family devastated.
