In the summer of 1907, a sudden act of violence shattered the peace in the bayside town of Crisfield, Maryland, leading to the tragic death of a dedicated lawman. Night Chief John Henry 'Jack Hen' Daugherty, a 52-year-old officer with the Crisfield Police Department, was fatally shot in the back of the head while escorting a prisoner to jail.
