On a cold December evening in 1984, a decorated Baltimore Police Department detective named Marcellus Ward, a 36-year-old Black/African American male, tragically lost his life in the line of duty. A 13-year veteran of the force, Detective Ward was known for his dedication and integrity, having earned several commendations and once being nominated for Policeman of the Year.
