On a quiet Sunday in the rural community of Marydel, Maryland, the life of Loren Peterson, a male military retiree, came to a violent end. On November 17, 1991, he was shot and killed as he sat watching television in a chair in his living room. The person responsible for his death was his wife, Barbara Ann Peterson. Immediately following the shooting, she walked to her daughter's nearby home and called the police to report what she had done.
