Kanu Patel

In the fall of 1998, a 28-year-old man of Indian descent, Kanu Patel, was working the night shift at a Dunkin' Donuts in Hanover, Maryland. His life, full of promise and the pursuit of an American dream, was tragically cut short in the early morning hours of October 15th. In a brutal and racially charged robbery, Patel and his cousin, Mukesh Patel, were fatally shot. A third employee present during the violent encounter was also targeted but survived.
