Nicholas Howard, a 26-year-old resident of southeast Washington, D.C., tragically lost his life on March 17, 2009, in Temple Hills, Maryland. The incident occurred outside Gill's Holiday Liquor Sports Bar and Restaurant, where Howard was involved in a confrontation with police officers. According to reports, Howard exited the restaurant and fired at the first officers who arrived on the scene. This led to an exchange of gunfire, during which Howard was fatally shot.
