On a tragic evening in Capitol Heights, Maryland, 34-year-old Jimmie Lee Hunter, a male resident of the area, was fatally shot on May 27, 2011. The incident occurred in the 1700 block of Kenilworth Avenue, where police responded to a report of a shooting at approximately 7:25 p.m. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Hunter suffering from gunshot wounds. He was promptly transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
