In a tragic turn of events on a Saturday evening in March 2014, 55-year-old Donald Campbell of Seat Pleasant, Maryland, was shot and killed. The incident occurred at an automotive business located in the 6500 block of Central Avenue in Seat Pleasant, where Campbell was an acquaintance of an employee.
Prince George's County police responded to a report of the shooting and found Campbell suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, officers spoke with 43-year-old Archie Singleton of Upper Marlboro, an employee at the establishment.
During their interaction with Singleton, police discovered he was in possession of a handgun. He reportedly acknowledged his involvement in the shooting to the authorities. Based on their preliminary investigation, law enforcement officials took Singleton into custody.
Following the investigation, Archie Singleton was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Donald Campbell. At the time of his arrest, the motive for the shooting had not been publicly disclosed by the police, who stated that their investigation was ongoing.
