In the early morning hours of June 18, 2016, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of a neighborhood in Oxon Hill, Maryland. When patrol officers arrived at the 1400 block of Southern Avenue at approximately 2:05 a.m., they discovered a man lying outside, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was 29-year-old Demetrist Glover, a resident of Just Street in Northeast Washington, D.C.
