In the quiet neighborhood of Rosedale, Maryland, the early morning hours of a Sunday in October 2016 were shattered by a violent home invasion that resulted in the death of 61-year-old Stanley Anthony Lane. Just before 3:30 a.m., an unknown number of assailants forced their way into a residence on Rossville Boulevard, unleashing a brutal attack on the occupants.
Inside the home, Lane and a 23-year-old man were both shot in the upper body.
A second 61-year-old man was also assaulted and suffered injuries to his head. All three victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Tragically, Stanley Anthony Lane succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. A woman who was also present in the house at the time of the invasion was not physically harmed.
In the immediate aftermath, Baltimore County police launched a manhunt for the multiple suspects involved in the deadly home invasion. However, the perpetrators had fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.
