On a cold December morning in 2016, the life of 23-year-old Deandre Hodge was tragically cut short in Capitol Heights, Maryland. A resident of Southeast D.C., the young Black man was discovered outside in the 4700 block of Mann Street by Prince George's County Police officers who were conducting a welfare check at approximately 7 a.m. on December 3rd. Hodge was suffering from a gunshot wound and was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
