In the winter of 2017, a burst of gunfire shattered the late-night quiet of a Baltimore neighborhood, leaving a young man clinging to life. On the evening of February 2nd, police responded to the 3700 block of 7th Street where they discovered James Hendricks, a 24-year-old male, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.
While detectives were processing the scene on 7th Street, another man, aged 43, arrived at Harbor Hospital with a gunshot
wound to his lower right leg. He informed investigators that he had been shot at the same location as his friend, James Hendricks. Despite medical efforts, Hendricks succumbed to his injuries three days after the shooting.
The investigation into the double shooting and subsequent homicide led Baltimore City police to a suspect. On February 10, 2017, authorities arrested 18-year-old Malik Price. He was taken into custody and subsequently charged with the first-degree murder of James Hendricks. Price was then transported to Central Booking to await legal proceedings.
