On a Saturday morning in Owings Mills, Maryland, a violent encounter left one man dead and two others wounded. On February 4, 2017, police responded to a report of a shooting at a condominium on Continental Court. Inside, they discovered three people suffering from gunshot wounds. Dominic Boyd, a 39-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical crews.

tragically. Investigators believe that Dominic Boyd had gone to the condominium of his 38-year-old estranged wife, Shakesha Boyd. At some point after he entered the residence, an exchange of gunfire erupted between Dominic Boyd, Shakesha Boyd, and another man who was also present.
Shakesha Boyd sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her upper body but was expected to survive her injuries. She and the unidentified man were transported to a local trauma center for treatment. The condition of the other man was not immediately disclosed by authorities.
Detectives recovered two handguns from the scene as they worked to unravel the sequence of events and determine who was responsible for the shooting.
