Pigford was a resident of Oxon Hill, Maryland, and a recognized figure in the Washington D.C. rap scene. He was an associate of the prominent Glizzy Gang, a rap crew led by the popular D.C. rapper Shy Glizzy. Pigford had been featured on several of the group's tracks and had also released his own solo mixtape, showcasing a talent that was steadily gaining recognition. His music often touched on the struggles of his life and his aspirations for a better future for his family.
