On September 27, 2017, in the 4000 block of Rocky Mount Drive, 20-year-old Ibrahim Kamara was found outside, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the quick arrival of patrol officers around 12:40 a.m., his injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Initially, the motive for the shooting was unclear, though investigators did not believe it was a random act. A reward of up to $25,000 was offered for information that could lead to an arrest and indictment in the case.
