In the early hours of a Wednesday morning, the quiet of a Temple Hills neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire. On September 27, 2017, in the 4000 block of Rocky Mount Drive, 20-year-old Ibrahim Kamara was found outside, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the quick arrival of patrol officers around 12:40 a.m., his injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
