Walter Baynes, a 30-year-old man, was fatally shot on April 19, 2018, in the Broadway East neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland. At the time of the incident, Baynes was visiting his 69-year-old grandfather, George Evans. The visit turned tragic when a barrage of more than 20 gunshots erupted, striking both men. Evans, a Baptist deacon who had resided in the same home for over four decades, was shot eight times and sustained wounds to his neck and legs.
