In the late autumn of 2018, the life of 44-year-old Christine Marie Andrews was tragically cut short in what police have described as a murder-suicide. On the afternoon of Thursday, November 1, 2018, law enforcement responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in Cresaptown, a community near Cumberland, Maryland. Inside the home, they discovered Christine and her estranged husband, 47-year-old Todd Andrews, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
Christine Marie Andrews, a mother of
three daughters, was found critically injured and was transported to a nearby hospital where she later died. Todd Andrews was pronounced dead at the scene, and a handgun was recovered next to his body. Investigators concluded that he had shot his estranged wife before taking his own life. The couple had recently separated, though police had no prior reports of domestic violence between them.
At the time of the fatal incident, two of their children and a friend arrived at the home. Fortunately, they were not physically harmed during the event. Christine was a graduate of Allegany High School, where she had been active in cheerleading. Her life was devoted to her three daughters, and she was an active supporter of their extracurricular activities, including the Allegany Arrowettes and the Allegany High School Color Guard. She was remembered as a loving mother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
