On a cold January afternoon in Baltimore, the cycle of street violence claimed another life. Davonte Robinson, a 26-year-old Black male, was found shot on January 19, 2019, at approximately 4:40 p.m. in the 2500 block of Edgecombe Circle North. His death was ruled a homicide caused by the shooting.
Robinson's story was tragically intertwined with a history of violence in the city. He had been previously targeted in a 2016 shooting.
That earlier incident was believed to have set off a chain of retaliatory violence which ultimately led to the death of local rapper Lor Scoota.
Despite the public nature of the violence that had surrounded Robinson's life, details regarding the investigation into his own murder have been scarce. To date, there have been no public announcements regarding any arrests made or suspects identified in connection with his killing. The case, like many in a city grappling with a high homicide rate, remains without a public resolution, leaving another family and community to mourn a life cut short by gunfire.
