On a Thursday night in November 2019, the city of Baltimore was rattled by another act of gun violence that claimed the life of 42-year-old Antonio Kelly. The fatal incident unfolded on the 400 block of Cambria Street in South Baltimore, where police were called to the scene for a reported shooting.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered a chaotic scene with two male victims.
One man, a 32-year-old, had sustained a graze wound to his knee and, despite the injury, refused medical attention at the scene. The second victim, Antonio Kelly, was found with a much more severe injury – a gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to a local hospital and was initially listed in serious condition. Despite the efforts of medical staff, Antonio Kelly succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the Shock Trauma facility.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, the Baltimore Police Department launched an investigation into the double shooting and Kelly's subsequent death. Detectives appealed to the public for any information that could lead to the identification and apprehension of the person or persons responsible for this violent act. They urged anyone with knowledge of the incident to contact them or to provide anonymous tips through the Metro Crime Stoppers hotline. However, public online sources have not released any information regarding any arrests or the identification of any suspects in the killing of Antonio Kelly.
