On the evening of May 21, 2020, Randolph Watson, a 54-year-old male, was shot and killed on the 100 block of South Morley Street in Baltimore, Maryland. The incident, which occurred at approximately 9:09 p.m., also resulted in the injury of a 55-year-old woman. Watson was pronounced dead at the scene.
George Pullet, a 60-year-old man, was arrested and charged in connection with the shooting.
In April 2024, Pullet was sentenced to life in prison plus 55 years for the murder of Randolph Watson. The sentence also included convictions for second-degree attempted murder, use of a firearm, and illegal possession of a firearm. The first five years of his sentence are to be served without the possibility of parole.
During the sentencing hearing, Watson's widow addressed the court, expressing the profound loss she endures. She spoke of missing her husband's smile and smell and the calls she will never again receive. In contrast, Pullet maintained his innocence, stating to the judge, 'I didn't kill that man…I didn't commit this murder.' His defense attorney attributed his actions to a difficult upbringing in the foster care system, arguing that a lack of support led him to a life on the streets. The prosecution highlighted Pullet's criminal history and possession of heroin at the time of a previous arrest as reasons for a lengthy sentence. The judge, concluding that Pullet was beyond rehabilitation, focused on punishment and deterrence in her sentencing.
