On January 21, 2021, 16-year-old Angel Villatoro from Hyattsville, Maryland, was tragically shot and killed in Langley Park. The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. when police responded to a shooting in the 8100 block of 14th Avenue. Officers found Villatoro inside a vacant apartment, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of medics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
