On a Tuesday evening in Baltimore, the life of 28-year-old Nathaniel Brown, a Black male, was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire. The incident, which unfolded shortly after 8 p.m. on March 23, 2021, in the 3500 block of South Hanover Street, also left two others wounded.
When police officers arrived at the scene in South Baltimore, they discovered three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
Alongside Nathaniel Brown, a 28-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man had also been shot. All three victims were transported to area hospitals for medical attention. While the woman and the younger man were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Nathaniel Brown succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
In the aftermath of the shooting, the Baltimore Police Department's homicide detectives took charge of the investigation. Authorities publicly appealed for anyone with information to come forward and contact the Southern District Shooting detectives or to leave anonymous tips through the Metro Crime Stoppers hotline.
