Eight-year-old Peyton "PJ" Evans tragically lost his life on August 24, 2021, in Hyattsville, Maryland. PJ was inside a relative's apartment in Landover, Maryland, playing video games and eating tacos when he was struck by a stray bullet. The incident occurred when three men opened fire outside the apartment complex on a group of people gathered on the 1600 block of Brightseat Road. PJ, who was not outside, was hit by the gunfire and subsequently pronounced deceased.
