In the autumn of 2021, a dispute between two acquaintances escalated into a fatal encounter in a parking lot in Landover, Maryland, leaving one man dead and another facing murder charges. On the evening of October 22, 2021, officers from the Prince George's County Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 1900 block of Belle Haven Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered 34-year-old Anthony Forest suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
