In the early morning hours of March 2, 2022, a dispute between acquaintances in Jessup, Maryland, ended in the tragic death of 35-year-old Jesus Oisreal Freeman. The fatal encounter occurred around 2 a.m. in the parking lot of Wing's Sports Bar, located in the 8400 block of Washington Boulevard. Howard County police officers were dispatched to the scene following reports of a shooting and found Freeman deceased upon their arrival.
An argument preceded the shooting, though the specific
nature of the disagreement remains under investigation. Freeman, a resident of Glen Burnie, and the man he was arguing with were known to each other. The altercation escalated, leading to Freeman being fatally shot.
In the days following the shooting, police identified Antonio Stephon Harrod, a 36-year-old from Jessup, as the suspect. On March 6, 2022, Harrod turned himself in to the authorities. He was subsequently charged with first and second-degree murder, as well as weapon violations, in connection with Freeman's death. Harrod was held without bond at the Howard County Detention Center. The case was later prosecuted by the Howard County State's Attorney's Office.
