In the early morning hours of July 10, 2022, the quiet neighborhood of Parkville, Maryland, was disturbed by an act of violence that left two people dead. Responding to a call for an assault in the 8700 block of Lackawanna Avenue at approximately 4:30 a.m., Baltimore County police officers discovered a grim scene. Inside a residence, they found 52-year-old Gerardo Sanjuan-Ramirez, a Hispanic male, who was pronounced deceased at the location.
Alongside him, first responders found
47-year-old Veronica Ramirez suffering from severe trauma. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but tragically, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. The bodies of both Mr. Sanjuan-Ramirez and Ms. Ramirez were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsies to determine the official causes of death. The investigation later revealed that both individuals had died as a result of a shooting.
In the days following the discovery, the Baltimore County Police Department's Homicide Unit took the lead in the investigation.
