In the late evening of August 14, 2022, a sense of unease settled over the 4400 block of St. Barnabas Road in Temple Hills, Maryland. Responding to reports of a shooting shortly before 9:30 p.m., Prince George's County patrol officers arrived to a grim scene. They discovered a man lying in the middle of the road, suffering from a gunshot wound. This man was identified as 51-year-old Terrence Koonce, a male resident of nearby Fort Washington.
