In the early morning hours of December 7, 2022, a grim discovery was made in Bladensburg, Maryland, when officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash. Inside the wrecked SUV, they found two 29-year-old men, Abdul Aziz Bah and Moshood Akinrinsola of Beltsville, both of whom had been fatally shot. The initial call came in at approximately 3:40 a.m., directing law enforcement to the 5400 block of Annapolis Road.
The investigation into the double homicide continued for nearly a
year without a publicly identified suspect. The Prince George's County Police Department had offered a reward of up to $25,000 for information that would lead to an arrest and indictment in the case, appealing to the public for any assistance that could help them solve the violent crime.
A significant breakthrough in the case came in October 2023, when detectives arrested 35-year-old Dwayne Richardson of Bladensburg. He was subsequently charged with two counts of first and second-degree murder, as well as other related charges in connection with the deaths of Bah and Akinrinsola. Authorities have indicated that Richardson was known to both victims, though a specific motive for the shooting remains under investigation as the case proceeds through the legal system.
